Slim DVD Cases

DVD Storage Sleeves can provide an excellent storage solution for your DVD and CD collections.  They’re light and easy to transport, and take up relatively little room compared to regular DVD cases.  DVD Sleeves are often stored inside a binder of some kind, which can be a dedicated DVD binder or even a simple arch file folder, like the ones you used to use at school.

When buying your DVD storage sleeves, there are a few things you need to be aware of and to look out for.  First of all, the sleeves come in either half sheet or full sheet sizes.  Full sheet sleeves are basically sleeves that allow you to store both the disc itself and the cover or liner notes on the same page, while the half size sheets you store the disc on one side of the sleeve and the cover on the other side.  Which one is better for you is entirely a personal preference and will depend mainly on where you’re planning to store the sleeves.

You should also keep an eye on the materials that the sleeves you want to buy are made of.  They should be plastic on one side (so you can see through them) and some kind of non-woven fabric on the other side, which allows the discs to breathe and is also soft enough to protect them from scratches.

One other thing you need to be very careful of, particularly if you want to transfer original covers or liner notes from your DVDs, is to make sure you’re not buying CD sleeves by mistake.  If you only want to store the original discs without any notes, this is fine, but if you do want to store the covers, you’ll find that the CD sleeves are made for CD covers, which are considerably smaller than DVD Covers.  If you do make this mistake, you’ll need to either forgo storing your DVDs and covers together, or trim or fold the covers to fit the smaller sleeves.
