Clear Slim DVD Cases

Welcome to SlimDVDCases.net, a site dedicated to providing you with links to the best sales and stores online, plus information on why you should be investing in slim dvd cases instead of regular ones.

The standard color for most DVD cases, whether regular or slim width is black, unlike CD cases which are clear.  For unknown reasons, clear slim DVD cases and regular cases have never really taken off in the market.  Green cases are usually associated with the Xbox and blue cases have now become the standard for Blu-Ray discs, but still almost all DVD cases that you see, whether empty cases or ones that come with DVDs, are black, and that includes slim, double and regular cases.

Clear slim DVD cases are an excellent choice if you want to be able to see into the DVD case without having to open it.  This will usually be in the case that you’ve lost, never had or don’t want the liner notes and covers, as you can immediately see what DVD is inside the case without having to open it.  If you do have them, especially any inside liner notes, be sure to check if they will fit.  Often slim DVD cases do not leave any room in the inside for any paper or booklets, so if you have liner notes it may be better for you to buy regular width DVD cases instead of slim DVD cases.

Slim clear DVD cases come in both transparent and opaque, colored versions.  The colored versions can still be seen through although not with the same level of clarity as the fully transparent ones, and they are probably a little easier to find online than fully transparent DVD cases.  Fully transparent ones aren’t that easy to find but they are definitely out there, in both slim and regular sizes.  Generally speaking, clear slim DVD cases aren’t any more expensive than regular ones, so you don’t need to be worried about the cost.

One alternative to buying clear slim DVD cases is to use slim line CD jewel cases instead.  These are easier to find and usually a little bit cheaper, and as long as you don’t have any covers or paper booklet to move over, they will hold your DVDs just as well as DVD cases.  Plus they’re smaller which is another advantage.  On the downside, however, they tend to break and be much more fragile than the relatively hardy DVD cases.
